PUSD has 30 days from May 15, 2026 to cure and correct the Brown Act violations, or notify the sender of their refusal. If they fail to act, litigation follows and any June vote on school closures could be judicially invalidated. Harden is named in the demand.

The Superintendent's School Consolidation Advisory Committee (SCAC) held its final meeting and voted on all six proposed school closure scenarios. Every proposal was rejected — the closest vote was 10 in favor, 19 opposed. The committee's official feedback: "There is no recommendation to consolidate schools at this time." The board is not bound by this result.
All PUSD board meetings are open to the public. Agendas are posted 72 hours in advance. To speak during public comment, sign up before the meeting begins.
